These days, we’re learning a lot about how medical providers and their patients are responding to the global coronavirus outbreak. Arin Sime, Founder and CEO of SimplyDoc, is here with an update on how COVID-19 is affecting healthcare and, more specifically, the need for and transition to telehealth.
Video from SimplyDoc giving an update on how the global coronavirus outbreak is affecting healthcare and telehealth.
Insight #1: Telehealth-related Google searches are surging
Thanks to Google Trends, we can see that the “telehealth apps” search term is up 500% when compared to one year ago. We can also see that the “online doctor” search term has increased dramatically in recent weeks. From this, we can tell that people are looking for ways to access medical care from home in this crisis.
Insight #2: Telehealth usage is increasing while in-person appointments are decreasing
We heard from one medical practice who has switched to only offering telehealth visits amidst this outbreak. We heard from another medical practice that they’ve seen the number of their appointments drop 20% recently. Patients don’t want to be exposed to germs in the waiting room; they’d rather meet with their doctor online.
Insight #3: Get telehealth to market as quickly as possible
Our sales conversations are showing us that care providers care most about getting to market as quickly as possible. Although we set ourselves apart by offering custom telehealth solutions, you’re focused on meeting your patients where they are right now. SimplyDoc can make that happen.
